About Us

We are a volunteer-led initiative dedicated to fundraising in support of schools in Hobicha Borkoshe, Ethiopia. Our team is made up of natives of the village and volunteers who are passionate about creating better learning environments for disadvantaged students.

Our mission is to ensure that every child has access to quality education by providing essential school supplies, renovating classrooms, and supporting both students and teachers with the resources they need.

Many classrooms lack desks, textbooks, and basic supplies, making it difficult for children to focus on learning. Through our fundraising efforts, we are renovating classrooms, providing desks and essential materials, and supporting students who need help the most. By doing so, we help children focus, learn better, and stay in school.

Students in this village have also never had the opportunity to see or use a computer. In this fast-paced technology-driven world, they risk being left far behind. We aim to supply at least a few computers to the schools so students can get even a basic introduction to technology, helping them build the skills they will need in the future.

This initiative began with family members, friends, and colleagues who saw the condition of the schools and wanted to help. Together, we believe that even small contributions can make a lasting difference in a child's future.

Join us in building better classrooms and brighter futures for these students.

During my recent visit to the school, I was deeply saddened by what I saw. Once a place full of hope and learning, the school now stands forgotten. The classrooms, built decades ago, are falling apart— cracked walls, broken windows, and floors so damaged that they seem unsafe to walk on.

The school was founded in 1983 and now serves more than a thousand students. In the late 1990s, an NGO called World Vision stepped in to help rebuild the classrooms and provide enough desks and school supplies. Back then, the school flourished; students sat proudly at their desks, eager to learn. But today, that image feels like a distant memory. Most of the desks are broken, and many students have no choice but to sit on the floor during class. Despite these challenges, their determination to learn remains strong.

When I spoke with the school principal and other officials, their concern was clear. They expressed a desperate need for help— especially for new desks and chairs, and to rebuild the crumbling classrooms. Their words echoed a plea for attention, not just for the building itself, but for the future of the many children who still believe in the power of education.
